Biggest Loser Season 8: episode two food quiz
Gosh, I cannot believe it took me this long to watch this show. I’m hooked and love the participants. Half of the time, I just want to hug everyone. I need to buy more boxes of Kleenex because this show really touches your heart.
That said there was one great challenge tonight where the 15 participants were able to learn some basics about healthy eating.
Australian Chef Curtis Stone was the teacher for this challenge and he reviewed 7 basic healthy eating secrets that can help the Biggest Loser participants lose weight and keep the weight off when they go back home.
I’ll first start by listing the lessons and then I’ll give you the test questions Allison asked the participants.
>>> Here are the Biggest Loser’s 7 Healthy Eating Tips revealed by Chef Curtis Stone:
1) Keep your portion sizes to no more than 3-4 oz … which is the ideal size.
2) There many ways of cooking without using oil. Why not try to bake, poach, grill, broil or steam your food instead of frying it.
3) There are good fats and fats – extra virgin oil is a far superior oil to vegetable oil.
4) Salads aren’t automatically healthy because when you eat salads at a restaurant you might be ingesting a LOT of calories from the HIGH FAT Chef Curtis Stone salad dressing.
5) Replace one portion of your pasta with vegetables like zucchini to cut back on calories and still remain full.
6) Cut back on soda.
7) Snack twice per day

This was an interesting challenge because basically if the group was able to answer 5 questions correctly, they will get an addition 15 lbs as part of the weekly challenge (the second week’s challenge was that if the group managed to lose a total of 150 lbs no one would go one … so these 15 lbs would mean they would only have to lose 135 lbs to all remain in the game).
