Celebrities’ Favourite Foods
« Previous ArticlesCarol Alt is a raw foods advocate

I saw Carol Alt on the shopping channel not long ago promoting her line of anti-aging skincare line. I really didn’t pay much attention until the host reminded views that Carol was in her late 40s and she was appearing on television without any makeup!
I stopped dead in my tracks and I got as close to the television as I possibly could because it’s not every day that a former supermodel (she is the first American to be the face of Lancôme and graced the cover of more than 700 magazines) appears on television without makeup.
Her skin was flawless and she explained that it was in great part due to the fact that she’s been following a raw food diet (which she’s been doing since the mid-90s).
It’s hard to believe that Carol Alt will be 50 later this year (born December 1, 1960) because her youthful skin and youthful body could lead us to easily believe that she’s not even in her 40s. Continue reading “Carol Alt is a raw foods advocate” »
Author of “Eat Pray Love” talks about food

Did you see the 2009 list of top 100 best selling books? “Eat, Pray, Love: One Woman’s Search for Everything Across Italy, India and Indonesia” makes the list at # 95 as reported by USA Today! It was #11 in 2008 and #3 in 2007.
It’s easy to see that Elizabeth Gilbert’s “Eat Pray Love” is a smash hit.
I picked up the book simply because she spends time in Italy. The dream of touring Italy and eating your way around my favourite country in the world!
I have to say that when she left Italy and made her way to India and Indonesia, I really disconnected (and I mean REALLY) with the story and kept reading hoping that I’d feel the same level of enthusiasm I felt at the beginning of the book, but I couldn’t. Wolf Blitzer talks about food!

I think Wolf Blitzer has the coolest name. Before even doing a search on his name, I thought to myself, this guy has got to be of German descent.
Well, it turns out that I was right and that Wolf Blitzer was born in Germany!
In one of my old issues of Bon Appetit magazine, I found a great food-chat with Mr. Blitzer and I thought it really cool to learn more about which foods he likes to eat.
Bon Appetit: You grew up in Buffalo. Any local specialties come to mind? Continue reading “Wolf Blitzer talks about food!” »
Obama family chef reveals
Not long ago, I was watching an interview with the Obama family chef on segment on CNN. I wasn’t surprised at all about the fact that current Obama family chef was once the chef of Queen Oprah! Since Oprah is very close to the First Family, I’m not surprised one bit that she’s pass along her own favourite chef.
During the interview, the Obama family chef did reveal a lot of great information.
Art Smith has been cooking for many a lot of politicians and his Washington “Art & Soul” restaurant … which happens to be one of the most sought after eateries in the U.S. capital.

Whoopi Goldberg HATES vegetables!!!

I was watching “The View” late one night and they had this segment on diet and food and Whoopi Goldberg declared that she HATES vegetables, but she feels that her decision to start drinking V8 cocktail juices is helping her.
Now, I don’t want to put down V8 because it’s certainly a much better choice than drinking soft drinks or many of those sports drinks (have you noticed how sports drinks aren’t always consumed by people who actually train???), but V8 will never (EVER) replace eating your five-10 portions of raw or cooked vegetables. Dr. Sanjay Gupta: eat 7 different colours each day!

One interesting thing that I have noticed a lot lately while watching CNN, it’s that Dr. Sanjay Gupta (CNN’s medical expert) has been recommending that viewers consider eating foods that have 7 different colours throughout the day (fruits and veggies to be precise).
I know that a number of CNN reporters have looked quite confused and perplexed every time Dr. Sanjay Gupta has made that suggestion. And you could see that they were trying to figure out in their heads how in the world anyone can eat 7 different colour fruits and vegetables per day. Dancing with the Stars’ diet
Not too long ago the press was going mad over Cheryl’s Burke “sudden weight gain”. To be quite honest, I had not realized Cheryl had gained any weight until I saw her on a number of shows telling the press to back off because she was hardly “fat”.
I think that Cheryl did the right thing because saying that a woman her size is fat is sending a dangerous message to women and young girls.
I don’t know about you, but the photo below is hardly depicting a woman who is “fat”!

President Obama’s favourite healthy foods

It’s true that U.S. President Barack Obama is a smoker (well, the man cannot be perfect after all), but when it comes to fitness and diet, he’s quite conscience of what the decisions he makes.
I’ve read that President Barack Obama likes broccoli just as much as I do!
As you know, I’m quite partial to a few online food magazines, and I found this great list of Obama’s favourite recipes WITH the recipes on Food & Wine.
When I look at the list, I have to say that most of these are foods I’d choose myself. Continue reading “President Obama’s favourite healthy foods” »
