Dr. Sanjay Gupta: eat 7 different colours each day!

One interesting thing that I have noticed a lot lately while watching CNN, it’s that Dr. Sanjay Gupta (CNN’s medical expert) has been recommending that viewers consider eating foods that have 7 different colours throughout the day (fruits and veggies to be precise).
I know that a number of CNN reporters have looked quite confused and perplexed every time Dr. Sanjay Gupta has made that suggestion. And you could see that they were trying to figure out in their heads how in the world anyone can eat 7 different colour fruits and vegetables per day.

American diets versus European diets

I already know that a lot of readers are going to be a bit offended by this photo and it might create a lot of controversy given that it’s a graphic depiction of the result of the types of foods most Europeans eat versus the types of diets Americans keep .
If a picture is worth 1,000 words this picture is surely proof that Americans are eating way too much food because portions are far greater than what the average person really needs. It might be a bit graphic, but the creator of this collage is surely getting the message across loud and clear.
On one side you have a slender woman with the European flag and in the lower right corner you see a basket of wine and what seems like “good quality foods”. On the other side you have an obese woman who is seemingly several pounds overweight and we see the American flag on the upper right hand side of the photo and a fast food meal from McDonald’s in the lower right of the photo.

Dancing with the Stars’ diet
Not too long ago the press was going mad over Cheryl’s Burke “sudden weight gain”. To be quite honest, I had not realized Cheryl had gained any weight until I saw her on a number of shows telling the press to back off because she was hardly “fat”.
I think that Cheryl did the right thing because saying that a woman her size is fat is sending a dangerous message to women and young girls.
I don’t know about you, but the photo below is hardly depicting a woman who is “fat”!
