Shape Magazine presents Shape Your Body
I think a lot of people give up on maintain a long term fitness regime because they get bored quickly. For others it’s because they’ve not been able to find a fitness program they enjoy enough that they’d actually be happy to stick to it for years to come.
I think if you have made the decision to get back into shape this year for the first time (or for the first time *again*), you’ll want to start with a program that gives you a variety of exercises so you can try out a few options and decide what works best for you and your lifestyle.

Best workouts from Fitness Magazine
The New Year Resolutions are in full swing and I bet you 100% that fitness is part of the top-3 on most people’s lists.
The gyms across North America will experience their busiest month of the year. Well-intentioned souls will line up, fill papers, pay fees, shop for fitness wear and head to the gym.
By the end of January much of the “this year I will lose the weight” mantra will have died down.
Life gets in the way, people get busy, the weather doesn’t co-operate … those are only some of the dozens of excuses that will keep a lot of people at the same weight they were last year.
Fitness has to fit into your lifestyle or else it won’t work. You have to make it fit and find the best ways to ensure that you keep up with your exercise.

Women Fitness | Fit at 40

I have a real issue (I mean I REALLY have an issue) with people who think that women after 40 cannot be fit and fabulous! It’s amazing how many people believe it’s harder to be fit after 40 than it is to learn Chinese (one of the hardest languages to learn).
The reality is that fitness begins in your mind! You have to decide that you are ready to lead a much healthier and happier life.
It’s true that if you’ve been a couch potato your entire life, it’s going to be quite the steep hill back to a healthy weight and strong body, but it CAN be done (YES, IT CAN BE DONE).

Yoga Fitness at home!

I was talking to my friend Dan (he’s in his mid-60s) and we were discussing how his daughter Jessica (she’s in her early-mid 30s) was a yoga instructor in London and how she embraced the practice with a lot of passion.
I remember telling Dan how incredible it was that the practice of yoga had exploded so much since the late 1990s. He corrected me and explained that there have been many resurgences of yoga and he still remembers the 1960s and 1970s where everyone seemed to be doing some type of yoga practice or another.
I thought this time it might be different, but it just might be because I had no recollection of the 1960s and 1970s yoga movement.
I first tried yoga in the mid-90s because my ex-Parisian-husband had decided at the time that he was going to master yoga.

Shaun T presents the Insanity Workout!

If you’ve tried the Insanity: The Ultimate Cardio Workout and Fitness DVD Program and achieved the results Shaun T promises, I want to hear from you!
I’ll be honest, I’m a huge sucker for fitness infomercials (okay, any kind of infomercials).
That said, Beach Body infomercials are my favourites. They make working out and having a rock hard solid body so sexy that I always want to pick up the phone and dial the number to order the latest Beach Body even if I’m totally committed to training 4 days a week for 60-90 minutes at a time.
It took a while for Shaun T’s infomercials to make it to Canada, but when I saw the Insanity Workout I nearly cried. This is the kind of intensity workout that makes you start speaking fluently in a foreign language because the burn is so intense it starts messing with your brain (in a good way)!
This is the kind of workout I live for. This is the kind of workout that makes me want more!
I’m not going to lie, I’ve not yet gotten my hands on the Insanity: The Ultimate Cardio Workout and Fitness DVD Program, but I wanted to open the floor to readers to find out how other Insanity Workout users feel about the workout.

This year I WILL lose the weight (again)!
How many times have you said that before?
This is the time of the year when you start getting quite nervous and even guilty about some of the overeating you’ve indulged in over the past few weeks.
Did you drink too much? Did you have one too many appetizers? How many slices of pumpkin pie did you eat? Ahhhhh! It’s so frustrating to have to set “weight loss” as a recurring goal (year after year after year after year) and never achieve your goals to a healthy weight, don’t you think?
Most people take a bit of a break from exercising during the holidays — they either bring down the intensity of their workout or cut back on the number of days they train because there are simply way too many parties to attend and too many Holiday dinners to consume. But by the time we reach the beginning of a brand New Year, a lot of people are ready to get their fitness regime back on track (again). It’s hard to ignore the loud cry of media outlets reminding you that this is the time of the year to go back to the gym, dust off that exercise equipment, buy the latest celebrity trainer DVD program, stock your fridge with veggies, give up sugary sodas, cut out carbs, cut out sugar and give desserts.
I know the hardest part is knowing where to start, so I’ve listed a few resources that can help you get started on your way to a slimmer body and a healthier weight:
1. Change your mind, change your body, change your life!
When it comes to getting into better shape, losing weight, having a better relationship with your body or being happier … you really have to be clear about what you want and you have to be able to see the end results. Trust me, there is not one aspect of your life that you cannot ameliorate when you use daily visualization! If you’ve never tried visualization to help you get a healthy weight and a healthy body, you should really check out this easy visualization program: >>>Click here to find out more and read the complete post where I share my own ah-ha moment:
