Jonny Bowden is 63 years old and you would never (EVER) be able to tell from the way he looks. If you can bypass the grey hair (and I know plenty of guys in their late 30s and early 40s who have grey hair … so hair colour means nothing), you’ll see a youthful face and a strong body.

Jonny Bowden is one of those “aging Baby Boomers” that the news refers to all the time (he was born in 1946 during the Truman administration). Like most people living in our “youth-obsessed” society, Jonny used to be reluctant to reveal his age and he used to even lie about it in the distant past to avoid being judge solely on how many candles he had on his birthday cake.

Jonny has recently changed the way he views the idea of aging and what it means to “grow old.”

>>> Here’s why Jonny feared turning 60:

“Back in the 60s I was in my 20s, and living to see my 60s seemed more like a curse than a blessing. My dad was in his forties back then, and he seemed so old. Sixty by comparison seemed ancient! Thoughts of me at sixty years old conjured up images of a sick, senile, and fat old man in a rocking chair.”

Jonny is living today a life that is vastly different from that of his parents. At 60-something, he’s active, strong and fit.

I love the way he breaks down his life:
> Sick? No way! I don’t take a single prescribed medication.

> Senile? Hardly! I read several books a month and just finished writing my seventh book (The Most Effective Ways to Live Longer: The Surprising, Unbiased Truth About What You Should Do to Prevent Disease, Feel Great, and Have Optimum Health and Longevity).

> Fat? Nope! I weigh 152 at 10% body fat, jog the canyons with my dogs, lift weights and play USTA competitive tennis five days a week. And guess what: It’s not that hard.

> Rocking chair? Ha! I travel all over the world for business and pleasure.

Longevity is all about living longer and better with optimal vitality and vigour. And it’s NEVER too late … or too early to start!

>>> We live in good times!

We live in amazing times. Unlike our ancestors we have year-round access to “superfoods” from all over the globe. New supplements are being developed that can dramatically enhance our physical and mental faculties. Recent scientific studies are revealing truths that can help us understand how to add healthy, vibrant decades to our lives.

Unfortunately most of these life-enhancing advances are going mostly unnoticed. The problem is that active boomers don’t have time to sift through all the information and sort fact from fiction. The sound bites that make it to the evening news are sometimes misleading for their brevity.

I know what you are asking:

“Isn’t there some way I can get access to the wisdom of the great thinkers in each of the most important fields of Longevity?”

“Where can I find an easy-to-follow program that shows me how to integrate the teachings of Longevity into a lifestyle that I can actually make my own?”

That’s exactly the questions that prompted Jonny Bowden to create “The 7 Pillars of Longevity“. This is a guide to living longer and growing younger!

>>> In this new program, Jonny Bowden reveals his personal secrets for longevity:

1) Food: You’ll learn the foods eaten by the four longest lived and healthiest societies in the world. A diet composed of these foods will virtually guarantee that you’ll maintain a healthy weight effortlessly and stay at the top of your game for decades.

2) Exercise: Everyone knows the importance of exercise, but most people misunderstand how to do it effectively. It doesn’t take hours in the gym to get results. You just need to exercise smarter.

3) Supplements: Hundreds of books have been written about supplements. As an expert on nutrition and supplementation (I take 50+ supplements every day) I will give you the basic essence of what’s most important to take and why. It’s surprisingly simple.

4) Detoxification: We all need some help ridding our body of toxins, and it’s far easier to do than you might think. You’ll learn cleansing tips and an easy seasonal “cleansing” diet.

5) Stress Management: Stress ages the body and the brain in profound ways that are measurable and demonstrable. A healthy longevity requires some built in stress management techniques, and they’re easier to do than you might think. This presentation shows you exactly how to do it. Just a few minutes a day on these special techniques could add years to your life and energy to your years!

6) Sleep: The emerging science of sleep has a lot to tell us about longevity. Deep in our DNA we’re programmed to respond to cues of light and darkness, that when properly understood and acted upon can add years to your life and significantly improve your health.

7) Emotional Intelligence: How you view yourself and your relationship to the world profoundly affects your health. The new science of psychoneuroimmunology shows how what we think about can affect our hormones, our brain chemistry and our immune system. Your relationships with your loved ones, family, people you work with, community and even the planet as a whole profoundly affect your health and longevity. With these simple techniques you can begin to boost your emotional intelligence while improving your relationships, well-being and overall health!

“I’m enjoying my 60s more than any other decade of my life! I don’t just want to live longer, I want to live longer and better.” – Jonny Bowden

>>> If you are 60 or if you know someone who is 60 and looking to age well, Jonny Bowden’s The 7 Pillars of Longevity is a must-have program!

Some people learn by watching, some by reading, and some by listening. The 7 Pillars of Longevity program is a complete learning system that allows you to do all three. You can watch the DVDs, listen to the audio CD, or read the transcript, depending on your mood and circumstances. Each method of information delivery will reinforce the others.

>>> This system is designed to dramatically increase your longevity!
“The 7 Pillars of Longevity” can facilitate changes that will virtually guarantee you better health, better relationships, and a happier life. If you think you’re doomed because of your genes, guess what?! Your genes are only a small part of the picture. There are dozens of little tweaks you can make to your lifestyle that will help you…

* Effortlessly maintain a healthy weight

* Watch your energy skyrocket

* Feel healthier and better than you have in years

* Have better, richer more meaningful relationships

* Improve your sex life (one of the best “side effects” of Longevity!)

>>> If you want to learn more from Jonny Bowden:

Health and fitness are usually made to seem too complex. Don’t you feel overwhelmed and confused?

Fitness and healthy eating should not be that complicated, but they are. In fact, if you read a lot of fitness magazines, books and blogs (as I often do), you’re told a confusing variety of complex advice. It makes your head spin and makes you feel defeated because you just don’t know what to do anymore.

One day you’re told that eggs, butter and meat are bad for you, the next you’re told to eat them without restriction. Then you’ll hear running is good for you and then an expert will share his view on CNN telling the world that running is bad for you and doesn’t help you to lose weight.

You’ll hear that lifting weights is the best way to get into shape, and others will laugh at that.

You’ll hear a million variations of the best workouts, diets, list of best foods, list of must-take supplements, tips and tricks to keep you lean. It truly can be very confusing to learn how to stay fit and thin as you age.

All this confusion and overload of information causes many people to feel paralyzed and therefore prevents them from taking action when it comes to their health.

The reality is that fitness doesn’t have to be that complex and boils down to two simple rules

Eat a moderate amount of real, whole foods (with occasional indulgences); and

Get your body moving on a regular basis

In my experience, if you stick to those two rules, and stick with them for the rest of your life, you’ll get and stay fit.

You cannot do one without for maximum results. Yes, you’ll see some improvement your health, but it would be an incomplete health. Now, do both most days of the week and you’re on your way to health and fitness.

You can make weight loss and staying fit very complicated (and feel like you need to read everything ever written on the subject or you can stick to some pretty easy rules that have worked for a lot of people: if you want to lose fat or weight, you must have a calorie deficit, and if you want to build muscle, you’ve got to use exercise to get stronger. The other stuff is mostly guesswork, and while these complicated programs probably work, they usually work because they promote one or more of the principles in this post, not because of their complexities.

Now before I share this list, I want to make sure that you do check with your doctor before you make any chances.

1. Get moving … even if it’s walking at first. Try to do some kind of physical activity most days of the week (4 or more days if possible). If you have an aversion to exercise, find a fun activity you like that will get your body moving. It can be dance, yard work, hiking, a nature walk, a swim, basketball, rugby, cycling, even housework if you do it vigorously enough. And it doesn’t have to be the same thing each day (change it up to avoid boredom). If you really want to succeed at staying fit, you should schedule a regular time slot where you commit to making fitness a priority.

2. Enjoy yourself (or find something you like). Whatever activity you choose, it HAS to be fun or else you will never stick to it for a long time. If you are unsure what you will like, sign up for trial classes or buy day passes to try new activities before committing long term. It won’t be long before you know if you find a certain activity to be fun or not! If it’s not fun … just move on.

3. Don’t push too hard too fast. Once you’ve been doing an activity for a little while, and you’re in decent shape, it’s good to add some intensity. You never want to start hard because you need to give your body time to adjust to a new exercise and you can add more intensity as time passes. Here are some specific examples on how you can gradually add intensity to your workouts: if you’ve been running, try some faster-paced intervals (take it easy at first) or hill workouts. If you’ve been strength training, be sure to add weights (safely) or decrease rest time or add more reps or sets. If you’re playing a sport, really speed things up, or focus on explosive movements. Intensity is a great way to get yourself in shape and have an effective workout in only 20-30 minutes (this is particularly practical on those days when you don’t have more than 30 minutes to work out, but you are looking for maximum benefits).

4. Don’t go overboard with exercise equipment. There are a zillion different exercise equipment out there, from ab machines to elliptical trainers to a whole slew of weight machines at the gym. It’s best to keep it simple. You can do amazing things with bodyweight exercises — in fact, if you are a relative beginner, you should start with bodyweight exercises for at least 6 months before progressing to weights. You don’t need cardio machines — just go outside and walk, run, bike, do hills, climb stairs (this alone will get your lower body in great shape), sprint. Even if you do weights, a barbell, exercise cables or dumbbells are all you need — stay away from the machines that work your body at angles it’s not meant to use.

5. Just a few exercises will change your body. Bodybuilding routines will have you doing 3-4 different exercises per body part. I can tell you how effective that is at keeping your body lean. That said, that’s often way too complicated for most people. The best strategy is to hire a personal trainer for a few sessions so he/she can create a simple workout routine for you and then you want to keep it simple in the weight room by doing exercises that workout multiple body parts at the same time: squats, deadlifts, presses, chinups, planks (those work your abs and core so effectively) or pullups, rows.

6. Eat real foods. I don’t have to tell you how important it is to eat healthy and real foods if you plan on losing weight and keeping the weight off. If you exercise and eat junk food all the time, you are pretty much working against your goals. You should aim to eat real and whole foods that are as close to their natural state as possible. That means stay away from processed, refined, fatty, sugary foods. Vegetables, fruits, lean meats, dairy, nuts, beans, whole grains, eggs, seeds. Prepare them yourself if possible — always keep in mind that convenience foods often have added ingredients, as well as extra salt, fat, sugar and preservatives. If you cut out completely of seriously reduce the amount of junk food you eat, you’ll drop the weight and keep it off for life.

7. Eat less food (you should stop when you feel full). Most North Americans eat too much, and eventually it shows up as belly fat. To lose that fat, we need to eat less — it’s really that simple. Of course, if you eat the real foods mentioned in point #6, you’ll probably consume fewer calories, but even so, it’s smart to reduce how much you eat overall, at least until you reach a healthy level of body fat (and even then, you shouldn’t let it all go). One way to do that is by eating slowly and mindfully until you’re just satiated (that means you stop eating when you feel full rather than stopped when you feel stuffed). Another way is to eat smaller meals and watch the portions.

8. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself: This is the downfall for so many people — they expect to see results immediately, within the first few weeks or month or so, because the magazines they read make it seem so instantaneous. But real fitness rarely happens this way — it’s a process and a lifestyle change. Remember that you didn’t gain the fat overnight, and you won’t lose it that way either.

The best way to ensure your weight loss success is to learn to enjoy the process, enjoy the activities (pick a fitness activity that you’ll actually enjoy), embrace healthy and real food, and you’ll get healthy and fit almost as an afterthought and in the process you’ll an amazing lifestyle for you and your family.

Jillian Michael, the hardcore personal trainer from “The Biggest Loser”, was on “The Doctors” show not long ago discussion some of the lamest excuses she had heard from clients and participants of The Biggest Loser that justified why they were fat, out of shape and eating themselves into an early grave.

Jillian Michael really didn’t have anything new to add that has not been written in most magazines and fitness blogs and fitness magazines as a way of getting people out of the fitness inertia, but hearing it from Jillian Michael takes a different twist because she does NOT believe in sugar-coating her feelings.

Before going down Jillian Michael’s list of lame excuses keeping people fat, I want to share one of her quotes that shapes my life every single day:

“If you’re strong physically, you’re strong in every facet of your life.”

If you easily make excuses for not taking more definite action about your health and your life, let Jillian Michael’s list of lame excuses keeping people fat be a wake call:

Anti-weight-loss excuse #1 – No Time

“When you don’t have a lot of time to work out, the key is to make every second count,” Jillian instructs.

Anti-weight-loss excuse #2 – No Money

The Bartendaz prove you don’t need money to exercise. The Bartendaz burst onto the scene as positive role models for urban youth. The isometric, or resistance, exercises don’t require fancy equipment, a gym membership or any money whatsoever. And, they can be done anywhere!

The calisthenics movement is gaining momentum, and founder of the Bartendaz, Hassan Yasin, as well as fellow Bartendaz Brittany and Cody perform onstage and show how easy it is to push, pump and pull your way to fitness.

>>> Watch Bartendaz in action and you’ll see that you can work out ANYWHERE:

>>>> Here’s a second video showing Bartendaz in action (it’s not quite clear what the founder is actually talking about, but those moves speak for themselves):

Anti-weight-loss excuse #3 – No Knowledge

Many people labour under a gross misunderstanding of food’s nutritional content, and don’t understand the fundamentals of how to lose weight. The numbers don’t lie: to lose weight, you must expend, or burn, more calories than you eat. It’s as simple as that. Oftentimes, healthy foods are prepared in an unhealthy way, which defeats the purpose! It’s time to take charge and be vigilant about what you’re putting into your body.

> Eating Out

If you’re in a restaurant, you need to ask how food is prepared. Green beans cooked in olive oil versus green beans cooked in butter are vastly different in their caloric and fat content.

“Be high-maintenance!” Jillian instructs. “Educate yourself! Ask for foods to be prepared differently. For example, ask for your vegetables to be steamed vegetables or have them prepared in olive oil.”

> Label Trickery

Make sure to read the labels on your food and understand the serving size, which is often much smaller than you think.

> Sweeteners

At only 16 calories a tablespoon, sugar is better for you than any artificial sweeteners, which are loaded with chemicals that can increase appetite and store fat.

“Artificial sweeteners are what’s called an excitotoxin, and what they can do is re-train your metabolism to not recognize the calories in sweet foods,” Jillian explains. “In theory, according to several studies, they excite the part of your brain that controls appetite and release a hormone called neuropeptide Y that increases appetite and stores fat.”

Anti-weight-loss excuse #4 – No Motivation

1. Set specific goals. Why do you want to achieve your fitness or exercise goals? Write them down and keep them in mind every time you’re tempted to raid the fridge and cheat!

“Make sure to set realistic goals,” Dr. Travis advises (main host of “The Doctors”).

2. Tell everyone you know about your goals – it holds you accountable to them.

3. Take before and after pictures — they’ll motivate you more than you think.

4. The revenge factor. Never underestimate the motivation derived from revenge.

“If you have an ex, or a high school reunion coming up – nothing beats the revenge factor!”

Jillian says with a laugh. “Then you can say, ‘Look what you missed out on, jerk!’”

Are you guilty of making these same excuses? Are you willing to change your ways and take your fitness more seriously?

I’d love to hear from you! Leave me your thoughts below.

Tom Venuto, fat loss expert, nutrition researcher, and natural (steroid-free) bodybuilder, is the author of the most successful e-book on fitness ever released: Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle.

In his new book, “The Body Fat Solution: Five Principles for Burning Fat, Building Lean Muscles, Ending Emotional Eating, and Maintaining Your Perfect Weight”, Tom Venuto expands and improves his program from e-book form into his first full health and wellness lifestyle guide now available in paperback.

The simple truth is that you gain fat when you take in more calories than we burn.

It’s also a fact that healthy eating and sticking to a weekly intense fitness regime is key to losing weight and maintaining a healthy weight loss for the rest of your life.

>>> So what’s keeping most people from losing weight?

Recognizing the emotional and psychological factors that sabotage fitness success, Tom Venuto hones in on the real causes of body fat and provides a sound plan for us to take back control of our bodies and end emotional eating for good.

In “The Body Fat Solution: Five Principles for Burning Fat, Building Lean Muscles, Ending Emotional Eating, and Maintaining Your Perfect Weight”, Tom Venuto addresses the cause that prevents too many people from losing weight instead of addressing the symptoms.

Venuto takes the gimmicks out of losing weight and puts readers on the path to:

* Reprogram the mind for autopilot success

* Stop self-sabotage and banish binge eating

* Lose the fat and keep the muscle

* Increase metabolism

* Eat the foods they love

* Get mega-motivated

* Never diet again!

Tapping into his years of training expertise and personal experience, Venuto helps readers change their relationship with food, empowers them to take charge of their lives, and delivers a program that promises dramatic and permanent results.

>>> Why is “The Body Fat Solution” getting so much press coverage?

* So many people are struggling fruitlessly with their goals as they are overwhelmed by seemingly endless waves of misleading advertisements and contradictory information about lifestyle and nutrition. There is so much unbelievable noise out there that many people are left feeling hopeless, defeated and not knowing what to do. “The Body Fat Solution” is a very healthy, very welcome voice of reason among all that noise.

* People don’t struggle with what to do to lose weight, but actually doing it (remember Nike’s famous words “Just to it”?, few people do).

* “The Body Fat Solution: Five Principles for Burning Fat, Building Lean Muscles, Ending Emotional Eating, and Maintaining Your Perfect Weight” outlines all of the necessary tactics to tackle these intangible influences on our nutrition and exercise plans.

* Tom Venuto busts all scams, hoaxes and misguided thinking that has made this world obese

* “The Body Fat Solution” encourages A Complete Lifestyle Change.

* Tom believes that food is the most addictive drug of all…and its 100% LEGAL!

* Tom makes you pause and think about so many important things, and the information he gives you is strictly scientific, AND the source is always listed right there.

>>> More on Tom Venuto

Tom Venuto is a fat-loss expert, nutrition researcher, and natural, steroid-free bodybuilder. Since 1989, Venuto has been involved in virtually every aspect of the fitness and weight-loss industry — as a personal trainer, nutrition consultant, motivation coach, fitness model, health club manager, and bestselling author of the popular e-book Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle, as well as other digital programs such as MP3 teleseminars and weight-loss membership websites. He lives in Hoboken, New Jersey.

>>> What people are saying about Tom Venuto

“Venuto gets at all the physical, psychological, and even sociological aspects of overeating, outlining a program of mental, cardio, and strength training, stressing accountability and self-control. Nothing fluffy about this book: just well-founded scientific research and clearly illustrated direction.” –Raya Kuzyk, media editor, Library Journal

“Offering the opposite of a quick fix, Venuto is honest about the effort it takes to drop a significant number of pounds. This is the book for women ready to tackle long-term weight loss.” –Polly Brewster, O: The Oprah Magazine

“At last, easy, concise, no excuses; get skinny — this is the guide. Great work, Tom!”
–Richard Bandler, co-developer of NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) and author of Get the Life You Want
“Tom Venuto’s book Body Fat Solution is one of the most important books on health, happiness, and physical well-being. With this fast-moving, easily usable series of methods and techniques, you learn how to enjoy superb physical fitness, achieve your ideal weight, and feel terrific about yourself, both emotionally and spiritually.” — Brian Tracy, motivational speaker and author of Reinvention

“Read this book — if you want to lose weight, improve your body and your health, and keep up these improvements for life. Tom Venuto gives it to you straight, basing his program on solid science and common sense. You will come away with a new feeling of inspiration and a new action plan to get you started and keep you on track to help you reach your goals — and then beyond.” –Judith S. Beck, Ph.D., author of The Complete Beck Diet for Life; Director, Beck Institute for Cognitive Therapy and Research; and research associate professor for psychology in psychiatry, University of Pennsylvania

“In 2003, Tom Venuto changed the fat-loss world with his e-book Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle. In 2008 he’s done it again with The Body Fat Solution. The world’s expert on fat loss speaks — I listen. I’ve often said fat loss doesn’t start with an exercise program, a diet, or a supplement . . . It starts with a mind-set shift. That mind-set shift begins with Tom’s new book. If you want to change your body, you need to change your mind. And to do that, you need Tom Venuto.” –Alwyn Cosgrove, coauthor of The New Rules of Lifting and The New Rules of Lifting for Women

“The Body Fat Solution hits the nail on the head. After working in the weight-loss arena for years, I’ve learned it’s difficult to find a book that truly spells out what it takes to lose weight permanently. It’s not a gimmick, it’s not a quick fix, but it surely is a solution.” –Christopher R. Mohr, Ph.D., R.D., cofounder of Mohr Results, Inc.

“The Body Fat Solution is going to change the paradigm in terms of weight loss. Most people believe that it’s a particular program that will be the answer, but as Tom covers in his book, it’s more about what gets each of us to follow any program — the behavioral factors that are so critical in achieving success. His new book perfectly addresses the science of exercise and behavioral psychology together, a powerful combination!” –Steve Yu, producer of Inspired: The Movie

“Look for The Body Fat Solution to become the best seller of the new year.”
–Jim Foster

“The Body Fat Solution provides solutions for regular people who live with stress, a shortage of time, and emotional eating habits, and who lack motivation. Through reading and implementing this book, readers will be able to promote successful thinking, stop bingeing and self-sabotaging behavior, lose fat, increase muscle, eat delicious foods, become motivated, quit dieting, increase metabolism, break the fat-loss plateau, lose those last few pounds, and develop a positive social network.” –Kelly Jad’on, book reviewer and syndicated health columnist, Basil & Spice

“Thank you so much for writing The Body Fat Solution. After reading the book, I decided to download the audio version and listen to it over and over again. The principles you shared have helped me to help my clients finally realize their self-limiting behaviors and have brought an awareness of destructive habits that was missing in the fitness marketplace. I highly recommend this book, an instant classic!”–Jimi Varner, personal trainer

“The Body Fat Solution outlines all of the necessary tactics to tackle intangible influence on our nutrition and exercise plans. The most insightful and logical nutrition and exercise program I have ever seen. Everything you need to know . . . it’s all there. Very motivational and very doable!” –Wade Weatherington, M.D., FAAP

“The Body Fat Solution is an amazing, life-changing book. When you are ready, this is the book to read. I found Tom Venuto’s book in my time of need. We all know what to do, but Tom gives us the how, the whys, and the science behind the facts. Somehow, understanding the whys helps so much more than someone just telling me what to eat or not to eat. This book should be mandatory reading in every health class across the United States. This would help solve the obesity crisis in America.” –John D. Kovac, M.D.

I’m a huge fan of Dr John Berardi and since getting my hands on his Precision Nutrition, I’ve found it to be incredible at helping me keep my healthy eating habits in check.

There’s really no such thing as an easy way to lose weight and keep it off permanently. You just have to roll up your sleeve and become 100 per cent committed to making better food choices AND remaining fit (for life).

Dr. John Berardi Lean Eating Program is launching TODAY!. It’s a transformational program that will only be open for short time (and he only opens it once per year). Last year, he awarded $10,000 to the winner of his weight loss challenge.

I’ve seen all the before and after photos of the winners and I can tell you these people have transformed their bodies and if they keep up with Dr. Berardi’s advice, they will have transformed their lives and the lives of their entire family (and extended family) FOREVER!

Before I talk to you about Dr. Berardi’s program launching today, I invite you to learn from Dr. Berardi’s 5 dummy-proof ways to start improving your diet:

The best way for you to improve your diet is to follow these five rules:

1. Eat about 4 – 5x a day and don’t wait so long between meals.

Research has demonstrated that those people who eat more frequently tend to have better blood sugar control, lower stress hormone production, lower body fat, and more lean muscle. But their food has to be the right stuff.

2. Include lean, complete protein at every meal and snack.

The ideal amount of protein per day for an exercising individual is 1 gram per pound of body weight. For a 140 lb woman, that’d be 140 g of protein. Getting this much means grabbing some protein every time you snack or eat a meal.

3. Include veggies at every meal and snack.

The ideal amount of veggies each day is about 8 servings. It’s quite tough to get all these servings if you don’t include some cooked, raw, juiced, or blended veggies with each meal.

4. Include a variety of healthy fats.

Our food supply today contains a fat balance that’s out of whack. To get our fat intake back to where it should be, we need to include things such as olive oil, avocados, flax oil, fish oil, raw nuts, etc. each day.

5. Consume carbohydrate-rich foods only after exercise.

Carbs aren’t the enemy. But they should be controlled — especially for women — since it’s easy to over-eat them. The best strategy to control carbs is to eat mostly whole grain carbohydrates (like amaranth, quinoa, whole grain oats, etc.) and to save them until after exercise. Since exercise increases our body’s ability to effectively utilize carbohydrates, the ideal time to eat some whole grains is within the first few hours post-exercise.

These “rules” are a great start. But they won’t get the job done alone. In fact, there are two other secrets to helping you build a great physique.

>>> Can lean eating be the solution to help you to a healthy weight?

Dr. John Berardi launched in January 2009 a program that has honestly changed bodies in a remarkable way. His program opens only once per year and there is a limited number of students he’s willing to work with.

If you are interested in making long-lasting changes when it comes to your weight, I recommend that you check out some of the success stories from Dr. John Berardi 2009 Lean Eating winners.

>>> It’s true that the cost of the Lean Eating won’t be in everyone’s reach, but I’ve been following Dr. John Berardi’s Precision Nutrition programm for one year now and I’m telling this guy’s brilliant.

>>> The one thing to keep in mind about John Berardi is the fact that he’s a former professional athlete and has been training athletes for most of his career. His goal is not to get you to “lose belly fat”, his goal is to get your body into shape, reach a healthy weight and make permanent changes to the way you eat.

>>> Here are the links again if you want to check out these two healthy weight programs:

***IMPORTANT: this is a video that is SO important to watch if you are a women***

Ladies, strength training/weight training is essential as you age.

I’ve been preaching this for a while now on my site and it’s quite a concern to me when women bypass weight training because they are afraid they’ll end up looking too masculine.

You have to lift a whole lot of weight and eat a whole lot of protein to be worried about looking masculine when you do weight training on a regular basis.

I can assure you that over a decade of regular weight training has left my body looking lean and firm and I DO NOT look masculine at all. As I like to say, things are still where they’re supposed to be and I intend on keeping it this way until I turn 150 years of age!

I recruited some reinforcement to help me get the message out.

During a recent Twist Conditioning Sport Performance Summit I was able to chat with President and athlete coach Peter Twist creator of the Smart Gym – one of my favourite exercise equipments because those elastic bands give you a total workout)!

This might be the most important 6:49 minutes of your day!

If you live not far from a Twist Conditioning centre, I encourage you to check out of those fitness centres because they are not like your usual gym setting. The focus is on drills and intensity. You’ll hear it yourself on the video, but Peter Twist clearly explains how a majority of their clients are in their 40s and 50s and looking to be “stronger” and NOT more toned.

I encourage you not only to listen to this video, but pass on the link to a friend!

I was lucky enough to attend a recent Twist Conditioning Sport Performance Summit and I’ve captured some of the best moments of personal trainers’ training sessions.

Peter Twist is the mastermind behind these summits. He’s the president and he’s also an athlete coach and I can tell you these were some intensive workouts designed to teach professional personal trainers some new techniques and exercises to help their clients better reach their weight loss and body goals.

I spent a bit of time filming all of these segments, but I also took the time to do one of those sessions and it took me no time whatsoever to start sweating.

I will also feature a segment reviewing a Twist Conditioning Adult Functional Fitness sessions and I will surely blog about the intensive one-hour-and-15-minute-long workout.

I know that the following videos won’t be for everyone because some have advance moves, but I do want to show that fitness is more than those exercise machines at the gym.

If you use exercise elastic bands, medicine balls or Bosu balls, you can really increase the intensity of your workout.

1) Bosu ball exercises part 1
