The Biggest Loser Season 9 Jennie-O Turkey Chili recipe

Biggest-Loser-Season-9-Jennie-O-Turkey-Chili-recipe

Turkey chilli recipe from The Biggest Loser Season 9 episode 5 that aired tonight February 2nd, 2010

Quite interestingly enough, I will have a face off later this month where I put turkey chili against meat chili.

This turkey recipe will allow you to enjoy your favourite comfort food without all the extra calories. When it comes to chili, I like both meat chili (which I prepare with lean veal ground meat) and turkey chili, but undoubtedly the turkey chili will always be in lower in calories and fat!

1 (20-ounce) package JENNIE-O TURKEY STORE® Extra Lean Ground Turkey

1 cup coarsely chopped onion

1 red bell pepper, cut into 1/4-inch cubes

The Biggest Loser Season 9 Chicken Cacciatore recipe

the-biggest-loser-9_chicken_cacciatore

****I’ve already sent the urgent email to get my hands on this recipe Chef Curtis Stone for my readers!***

***Update: January 21st: The recipe was posted on their site, but I’ve adding at the end of this post as well. They don’t always post the recipes and in some cases, I can get my hands on them quickly. Enjoy!***

In the meantime, I want to highlight what Chef Curtis Stone revealed about calories and portion sizes on The Biggest Loser Season 9 episode 3 that aired tonight January 19th, 2010.

I’m sorry, but I think that my American readers are at a HUGE disadvantage when it comes to losing weight because in most U.S. restaurants the portion sizes are out of control.

I mean, come on, there is NO need to pile so much food on one plate.

I honestly believe that most restaurants can cut their portions by half and people who still feel satisfied, but they’d actually be a normal size.

I’m sorry, but cutting portions by half would solve the obesity crisis in America.

>>> If you missed the portion sizes and calorie of the 5 restaurant dishes that Chef Curtis Stone, I have them here for you:

1. Caesar salad plate 860 calories

2. Fried macaroni (I can only ask why?) 1570 calories

The Biggest Loser Season 9 premier summary!

The-Biggest-Loser-Season-9_intro-family-2The-Biggest-Loser-Season-9_intro-family-5

Did you watch the premier of The Biggest Loser Season 9 yesterday, Tuesday, January 5th, 2010 at 8 pm EST on NBC?

I could NOT believe how many people lost 15+ lbs in the first week. I mean Michael Ventrella (the biggest contestant to ever appear on The Biggest Loser) lost a whopping 34 lbs in ONE WEEK!

If you looked at Bob and Jillian’s faces you could tell they were incredibly shocked by the results.

It’s true this group of participants are the heaviest ever on The Biggest Loser, but they also happen to be the group that has lost the most amount of weight in one week.

I cannot wait to see what happens in the coming weeks, because it’s looking like this season will bring a lot of “firsts” and a lot of surprises on The Biggest Loser Season 9!

The Biggest Loser Season 9: meet the teams

The-Biggest-Loser-Season-9_intro-familyThe-Biggest-Loser-Season-9_intro-family-5

***I’ve included video clips of all of the teams that will participate in The Biggest Loser Season 9***

The new season of The Biggest Loser Season 9 is only two weeks away! In fact, it’s approaching so fast that I’ve already started seeing some ads on NBC promoting the upcoming season.

In Season 9, we’ll meet Michael Ventrella and his mother Maria who are proud to be 100% Italian-American. Unfortunately, most of the food they cook and eat is not the healthiest and that would explain why Michael is officially the heaviest participant to ever participate in one of The Biggest Loser shows. He tips the scale over 500 lbs and he already has a significant number of ailments caused by his obesity.

>>>> Here’s a photo of Michael and Maria:

Don’t forget, that the next season of The Biggest Loser Season 9 kicks off on Tuesday, January 5th, 2010 at 8 pm EST!

If you’ve not had a chance to catch the clips on TV for the new season of The Biggest Loser, you can watch them here and get familiar with the different teams.

The Biggest Loser Season 9

The-Biggest-Loser-Season-9_intro-top

Season 8 was incredible. If you’ve missed the major highlights, I have loads of videos at the end of this post to share with you.

Season 9 is only a few weeks away (premiers on Tuesday, January 5th, 2010 at 8 pm EST) and I cannot wait!!!

It’s already exciting to know that Shay (the biggest contestant from Season 8 will return, but I cannot wait to see how much improvement Michael Ventrella who weighs over 500 lbs and is officially the heaviest contestant since the beginning of the show is able to get in his life from losing the weight.

I’ve seen the preview and it’s scary that someone who stop caring that much about themselves and would allow their body to reach these proportions.

>>> The Biggest Loser Season 9 is all about losing the wait as couples!

This is not the first time The Biggest Loser pairs family members together to help them fight off obesity, but this season will promise to be interesting because Michael Ventrella tips the scale at over 500 lbs!

The View 5 diet plans for a slimmer body

the-view-diet-show

Last Friday, Sherri and Whoopi presented 5 different diet experts who gave the audience 5 different diet plans for the New Year to burn that belly fat away and lose all that unwanted weight.

I watch in amazement and shaking my head the whole time thinking of the many unsuspecting souls who were going to yet again start a new diet plan that would most likely fail before February 1st.

Now, it’s obvious that before you even think of starting a diet, you need to check with your doctor and shows like The View are simply displaying what’s out there. I know during the segment there was a lot of talk about “Whoopi used this diet to lose 15 lbs” and “this diet really worked well for Whoopi”, but that’s no reason to jump into any of these diets without a serious chat with your doctor.

Before I put in my own grain of salt, let’s take a look at the 5 diet plans presented on The View on Friday, December 18th, 2009. That said, I’ve added a few quick notes at the end of each diet to give you my perspective on things:

1) Dr. Siegal’s Cookie Diet
