The definition of a modern woman has definitely evolved into such a complexity these days. Multi-tasking is the name of the game. But when you have a career, a family, travel, and errands to juggle everyday, your own bill of health is often times the one to be sacrificed in order to perform well in the other areas of your life.

With so much to think of, planning healthy meals may be pushed to the back end of your priorities, creating the most conducive environment for fat to accumulate in areas of your body that really, really do not go unnoticed – some price of working your butt off, I know!

>>> You’ll find the details on this free trial offer here – click here NOW: PEERtrainer for the busy woman’s weight loss
Alright, I know what you are going to say next – with your busy schedule, how the heck do you fit in exercise and diet somewhere there?

The program adopted by PEERtrainer.com zeroes in on getting rid of the weight and keeping it off, unlike others who help you lose big numbers instantly, only to get them back with a bat of an eyelash. What they call The Point Of No Return is what sets them apart – in their 12 week coaching program, they teach you to lose the weight and how to adopt a healthier lifestyle to stay away from the fat for good.

Andrea Klassen, PEERtrainer.com user has this to say:

I could go on for days about how excited I am to finally be living a life free of dieting and free of the constant obsession with food. It has been about 20 years, and I cannot even express in words how freeing this new lifestyle is, it truly was weighing me down. I am at my goal weight (even a little lower) and it is not a struggle to maintain it at all. I never ever thought I would be here. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Of course, because of individual differences, the program may not work like the bomb for everybody. But the good news is, the first month of the program is only $1 so if it isn’s working for you, that’s that.

The program comes in a convenient MP3 format that are e-mailed to you over the course of 12 one-week segments with a series of reminders that make sure you are right on track. To make matters better, opting in for the PEERtrainer.com weight loss program provides you instant access to a private online support group who will be there with you on your journey to a lighter, healthier, slimmer waistline.

If you think you have tried everything and have failed, this is the one thing that you have been waiting for, no pun intended.

Why on Earth are you still over weight even after endless dieting?

Majority of our country’s population is over weight – as much as 70%! You may be one figure in that number, and let me tell you, with the amount of wrong diet information out there waiting to attack you, or worse, you have already fallen for, your waistline and your health are less likely to improve any time soon.

Check which diet program you are following:

Low carb diet

Low fat diet

Starvation diet

Pre-packaged diet

Hollywood diet

>>> You’ll find the details on this free trial offer here – click here NOW: Strip That Fat for Effective Weight Loss

Now here is the deal. If you are following any of these diet programs, you may want to reconsider because they do not work and most are even bad for you!

Most times, these diets are impossible to maintain, being too strict, and causing your body to go haywire from lack of necessary nutrients needed for optimum functioning. Expect frequent headaches, loss of sleep, bouts of irritability – even depression, and rebound weight gain after the initial weight loss!

If you really want to get rid of fat, particularly those in your problem areas like your thighs, back, and abdomen, Strip That Fat is the only weight loss program for you.

Lisa Knoll, Strip That Fat user who took the 60 day weight be gone or your money back guarantee has this to say:

I want to just send a quick note and thank you guys. I have been struggling with depression for as long as I can remember. It has only been a few weeks but I have been able to lose some weight already and actually keep it off. I have been on countless amounts of meds and tried numerous types of diets, but nothing has helped me as much as the program at Strip That Fat has. You’ve changed my life!

>>> You’ll find the details on this free trial offer here – click here NOW: Strip That Fat for Effective Weight Loss

Strip That Fat is an online diet program, increasingly gaining popularity because of its realistic and sustainable approach towards weight loss – as much as 2 lbs. of pure fat loss every week, and imagine how much that adds over time! It follows a no nonsense, nutritionally sound, and positive strategy structure that gets rid of all your unwanted fat the healthier way.

Strip That Fat offers you the following weight loss solutions:

The most sound and user-friendly e-book that teaches you basic knowledge of nutrition, focusing on the 15 Dieting Aha’s, which reveal the tremendous weight loss properties of how having smaller meals in a day are better than big ones, the importance of breakfast, and some helpful tips on how to eat out in a healthier way.

How to squeeze exercise in your busy, busy day and the importance of targeting your legs for weight loss, plus the effectiveness of lower intensity workouts for a thinner waistline faster.

A diet generator that helps you plan your food and make your very own grocery list, plus a run down of acceptable condiments and caloric contents and the wisdom of portion sizes.

Bonus reads include the ultimate guide to eating fewer calories than what you burn in the Calworries guide, the calorie worksheet, and the “Living Life Healthy” recipe guide.

The only bad thing I can say of Strip That Fat is that it comes off as unpolished in some areas but over all it is still the best deal you can every get yourself if you are serious about losing the weight and keeping them off. It is one of those few weight loss programs that really put your best health in consideration and not just focusing on instant fat loss that go back immediately anyway.

cancer-fighting-enzyme-in-junk-foods

Have you heard of the asparaginase enzyme? Well don’t worry, I could barely spell the word. It’ this new solution to help people stay fit by sprinkling their junk food and fatty baked goods with an enzyme that is a cancer-fighter.

This is another one of the nutrition stories I watched on the news last night. Once again, how interesting that the media would choose December 22nd as the date to feature not one, but two nutrition stories while most everyone was at the mall shopping.

Now, silly me, I thought the idea to get people healthier was to convince them to eat less junk foods and not give them more ammunition to keep eating that sort of low quality foods.

Adding asparaginase enzyme to junk food is being used in many countries (New Zealand, Australia and Denmark) and it’s being used in the U.S., but it seems that the Canadian government is now considering allowing the use of the asparaginase enzyme in foods.

The asparaginase enzyme is used in patients with leukemia and some other types of cancers. Asparaginase also helps to reduce levels of a food processing byproduct called acrylamide, which may have cancer-causing properties.

The Canadian government is quite keen on this new enzyme because during the processing of starchy foods at high temperatures a potentially cancer-causing chemical called acrylamide is produced. That said, the addition of asparaginase to these foods before they are processed helps to reduce the amount of acrylamide that is formed.

Again, this looks good on paper for those who just cannot give up junk food and start adopting healthier eating patterns, but is this just no giving people who love junk food another excuse not to change their ways? Is that the message the government is sending out?

Since the plan is to add asparaginase to junk foods and baked goods which are foods notorious for increasing the obesity, high cholesterol diabetes and cancer burden in North America (and yes that includes Canada), would it not be more effective to provide more interactive education to get people to learn how to eat healthy instead?

Also, is there any long term proof that adding the asparaginase enzyme to junk food won’t cause more harm than good in the long run?

I don’t know about you, but I feel as if the Canadian government is fooling itself in trying to make it “safer” to eat junk food and it really should be focusing on getting people off of junk food.

I’d love to hear what you have to say on the topic.

Remember the war against trans fat that hit the media circuit like a wave not long ago? You could not turn on the TV without seeing a nutrition expert talking about the dangers of trans fat foods and ways to avoid trans fat in your diet and how companies where more conscious than ever before about the dangers of trans fat and making the necessary changes to protect you the consumer.

Remember that whole movement that took place in Canada and the U.S.?

Well, it seems that the measures the Canadian government had put into place (in June 2006, the federal Trans Fat Task Force recommended legislation to limit trans fats in processed foods.) to reduce the amount of trans fat in foods is FAILING- FAILING- FAILING!!!

Yup, most Canadians are still eating way too much trans fat and that also means that there are way too many kids eating trans fat.

I’m not sure how these numbers shake up in the U.S., but I have a feeling the problem of trans fat is not much better given the fact that the problem of obesity in America keeps surging to more dangerous levels each year.

I usually give into celebrities shows at night while answering emails, but last night for some reason, I watched the nighttime news and there were two stories on nutrition back to back.

It’s quite interesting that stories about nutrition and what to eat versus what not to eat would be featured on the news at the eve of one of the periods in the year where most people just indulge in all sorts of fatty foods.

I’m not sure how many people will have watched those stories in the news, but I can tell you that I was all ears.

According to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation, trans fats are still way too high in common foods.

The danger with all this trans fat in foods is that it raises the levels of low-density lipoprotein, or “bad” cholesterol, in the body and can lead to clogged arteries and heart disease. In Canada there are 3,000 to 5,000 deaths associated to trans fat foods each year and you can multiply that number many-many-many times over for Americans.

Here’s another scary thing that was revealed by Heart and Stroke Foundation: “trans fat can be found at dangerous levels in foods in children’s hospitals”.

The Heart and Stroke Foundation points the figure at some of the foods with the highest levels of trans fat:

* 60 per cent of cookies.

* 50 per cent of bakery products (think doughnuts).

* 26 per cent of chicken products (think chicken nuggets).

* 21 per cent of French fries.

Hmmm, it seems the government is not doing a great job at keeping people on the right path when it comes to nutrition which is why I firmly believe that it’s up to each and every individual to get educated about how they can make healthier foods choices to support good health.

Adopting a healthy diet should not be all that complicated and I strongly believe that all this information (which is often contradictory) is getting people confused and making it impossible to know which actions they should take in order to eat healthy foods more often.

***Do you know how many calories are in your favourite Starbucks holiday drink?***

Holiday coffee drinks are back! You know what that means? An extra way to get off your diet and add loads of calories to your week.

I know I might be part of the exception here, but I just find all those complicated Starbucks drinks to be more like dessert than coffee.

I usually keep my coffee order extremely simple and you’ll only see me ordering one of these three coffee drinks: 1) a latte 2) a cappuccino 3) a macchiato. That’s it. I usually will order a low fat drink and I keep my drink to a tall (the grande and venti are just too much caffeine for me in one shot).

If you are one of those holiday coffee drink addicts, you might be quite shocked to find out how many calories are packed in those sugary-drinks and maybe you might limit how many of them you order in one day armed with the right information.

Before I drop the calorie bomb on you, let me remind you that your daily calorie intake as a woman should be about 2000 calories and 2500 calories for men (one pound of fat is made up of 3500 calories). Now that you know what you might take a look at your Holiday latte drinks in a whole different way.

>>> Holiday Starbucks coffee drinks calorie counts:

1) Is a Gingerbread Latte your drink of choice? Well a grande (16 ounces) Gingerbread Latte with two percent milk and whipped cream, your order contains 320 calories from fat.

> Cut out the whip cream and easily save 70 calories!

starbucks-gingerbread-latte-holiday-drink

2) Do you dream of a Peppermint Mocha? If you order a tall (12 onces) non-fat Peppermint Mocha latte without whipped cream you are still packing 220 calories!

3) Do you prefer a Peppermint White Chocolate Mocha? Well, you might want to sit down for this one because a venti (20 onces) Peppermint White Chocolate Mocha with whole milk and whipped cream contains a jaw-dropping 680 calories.

> I say, cut down that order to a tall or grande and drop the whipped cream. Instead of whole milk order a low fat Peppermint White Chocolate Mocha because with the sugar and minty flavour from the peppermint syrup … you won’t miss the extra calories from switching to a low fat milk.

4) Is the Starbucks Eggnog Latte is your secret addiction? Ho-ho-ho, the joke is on you because a grande Starbucks Eggnog Latte with whole milk and whipped cream contains a frightening 510 calories and 29 grams of fat!

> If you order a tall Starbucks Eggnog Latte made with non-fat milk and hold the whipped cream, the calorie count is almost cut in half and comes to 270 calories and 8 grams of fat.

starbucks-peppermint-mocha-holiday-drink

5) Could a tall (12 ounces) non-fat Starbucks Cinnamon Dolce Latte without whipped cream be the better option? When it comes to Starbucks holiday drinks it seems that Dolce is the way to go.

> The tall (12 ounces) non-fat Starbucks Cinnamon Dolce Latte without whipped cream comes at a measly 160 calories. This is surely cause for celebration!

6) Would a Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte with soy milk come at a lower calorie count? Well, not exactly since a grande (16 ounces) Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte with soy milk without whipped cream is still 300 calories.

> You would reduce the calorie count by ordering a tall Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte.

7) What about a Starbucks tall non-fat Caramel Brulee Creme? Well you are still looking at quite a lot of calories for a simple coffee drink!

> Even if you ordered a Starbucks tall (12 onces) non-fat Caramel Brulee Creme without whip cream you’re still looking at 240 calories and 40 grams of sugar!

starbucks-peppermint-mocha-holiday-drink_main

#8) Why does it make sense to hold the whip cream when ordering your next Starbucks holiday drink? By avoiding whipped cream when you order a grande (16 ounces) non-fat Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte (as an example) you save 70 calories!

> Your grande non-fat Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte without whip cream contains 260 calories, compared to one with whip cream, which has 330 calories!

I think the message here is not to give up all holiday coffee drinks since they only come around once a year. I think you might want to reassess the size of your drinks and you also want to ask yourself if you REALLY need that extra whip cream topping. You’ll also want to keep in mind that just like anything in life … too much is not always a good thing. In order words, it’s not necessary to have a holiday latte packed with sugar and calories every single day of the week until Christmas!

If you are stuck and there is NOTHING else to eat other than food from a vending machine, would you know which one to pick in order not to throw off your diet?

Luckily, Dr. Oz comes to the rescue and he reveals the top 3 healthiest choices you can make if you were stuck and you were forced to buy food from a vending machine. I guess in some strange way you can call this “healthy vending machine food choices”!

Of course, this was another one of Dr. Oz’s game, but this show has a way of turning learning about food into something that is both educational and also fun.

>>> Dr. Oz list of top 3 healthiest vending machine food choices:

3) Peanuts: A small packet contains a whopping 330 calories (and you might also be getting peanuts that contain hydrogenated fat, but I guess compared to other choices, this is not so bad)

2) Multi-grain chips: A small packet will satisfy 1 serving of whole grain (you should be getting 3 servings of whole grain per day).

1) Popcorn: A bag of popcorn (with cheese) contains only 100 calories per serving and 1 gram of fiber. That one gram of fibre will fill you up until you eat a proper meal!

Remember Dr. Oz suggests that you keep snacks at no more than 200 calories (max) because snacks are supposed to hold you until you have a proper meal

7-patty-whopper-burger-japan

I wish this was a bad joke, but alas it’s not.

I guess a regular whopper is not bad enough … since Japan’s Burger King restaurants put out a Whopper to end all Whoppers: the 7-patty Whopper burger.

The idea is to honour Microsoft’s new Windows 7 operating system, but honestly this is just setting a bad example when it comes to nutrition.

When you are going to a fast food restaurant to order a hamburger with 7 patties that’s 5.8 inches tall (14 cm) and you’re dropping $8.50 (777 Yen) for the honour, then you are just setting yourself up for a whopping heart attack.

Imagine that this monstrosity with its 791 grams of beef contains 2,120-2,500 calories which is equivalent to the daily recommended calorie intake for the average man at 2,500 (the average woman should consume about 2,000 calories a day)!

Indeed, this might have been a clever marketing and publicity idea and it has worked since so many media outlets are talking about it, but you’ve got to ask yourself how long will it take before some restaurant in America starts making the 7-patty hamburger a regular staple on their menu and you also have to wonder how long will it take for this to become a meal people actually look forward to eating?

As a healthy eating advocate, you can imagine that I would say that Burger King could have found another idea to honor the launch of Microsoft’s new Windows 7 operating system.

7-patty-whopper-burger-japan

I’d love to know what you think of the 7-patty Whopper created by Burger King? You can leave your comments below!

>>>> I’ve included a few videos that highlights the ridiculousness of this promotion:

1) Burger King Whopper Windows 7 (for the love of God, the guys needs help with this 5.8 inch burger)

2) An American eats Burger King’s 7-patty Whopper (he actually eats a larger portion of this massive burger and his friend actually ate the entire burger … because all that meat is so dry both guys have used up 15-20 packets of ketchup)!!!
