Chelsea Handler: If I “went” every day, I’d be 10 lbs lighter than I am now

Chelsea Handler (aka Chelsea Lately on the E Channel) is one of the only comedians I’ll actually watch because I’m not a big fan of standup comic, but there is something about her that is quite entertaining and amusing.
I was watching one of her shows not long ago and the panel (she always has three guests for the first half of her show making fun of the day’s celebrity events) and they were talking about a celebrity (cannot remember which one) and their eating habits and I remember Chelsea blurting out: If I “went” every day, I’d be 10 lbs lighter than I am now!
Chelsea was referring to the fact that she’s not regular (you should know that bodily functions are one of Chelsea’s favourite topics) and she doesn’t eliminate daily.
It’s interesting because not long ago, I heard Whoopi Goldberg also talking about her daily habits:
Whoopi Goldberg HATES vegetables!!!
In both Chelsea’s and Whoopi’s cases, eating a diet that is high in fibre (which includes fruits and vegetables) will help them be regular and eliminate their toxins on a regular base. A healthy body should be able to eliminate toxins one to three times per day, each and every day.
If you are eliminating toxins a couple times per year, that means you have a LOT of toxins sitting and putrefying inside your colon.
Did you know that 150,000 Americans are diagnosed with colon cancer every year? I’m sure the stats are as scary for Canada and the U.K..
Dr. Mehmet Oz was maybe the first medical doctor to popularize the need to take better care of what we eat in order to have a healthier colon and he’s also the one who has actively promote colon screening in order to prevent any chances of colon cancer.
The topic is not a pleasant one and not the type of conversation you’d have on a Saturday night while sipping on your favourite wine over a dinner with friends, but it is a topic you need to be concerned with and if you don’t have a diet that is rich in fibre (which helps keeps you regular), then you surely need to get your doctor of nutritionist involved.
People who make conscious efforts daily to make better food choices considerably decrease their chances of having to deal with colon cancer.
Here are 20 foods that are high in fibre to help you make better food choices:
- Raspberries (apparently they have the highest fibre content of all fruits) and other berries
- Whole wheat pasta (you’ll get 6 grams more of fibre than with white pasta … so you’ll want to mix up both white and brown pasta in your diet)
- Brown rice
- Dried fruits (be careful not to eat too much because they are high in sugar)
- Corn and popcorn
- Beans (just pick and choose your favourite – black beans, romano beans, white beans, garbanzos or red kidney beans)
- Lentils and chickpeas
- Aubergines/eggplants
- Nuts
- Bananas
- Carrots
- Prunes
- Pears
- Apple (they don’t say “an apple a day will keep the doctor away for nothing”)
- Brussels sprouts
- Broccoli, rapini and broccolini
- Whole grain breads
- Cereals that are high in fibre (read the box before buying your cereals)
- Pretty much any leafy green vegetable
- Beets (one of my all-time favourite vegetable)
This list should get you going and you should be able to easily add more fibre to your diet.
In many ways Chelsea Handler is right. She’s super thin and doesn’t need to lose 10 lbs, but if most people actually were to eliminate toxins and trapped foods from their bodies, they’d drop a lot of weight and it would seem as if the fat if melting off their belly and their body!

Cute! Is she eating corn? Isn’t it bad for babies, I mean their digestion is not that good enough to go through those grains?
