A few months ago I had my blood work done and discovered that my H1C1 level was very high. Although my fasting blood sugar levels were normal, a high H1C1 level was very concerning, as it can lead to diabetes or even sudden heart attack.

For those who are not that familiar with H1C1, it is a measurement of your blood sugar level over the previous 3 months – kind of like a batting average – and is also a precursor to developing Type 2 diabetes. Luckily it can be lowered with proper diet and weight control management and even medication.

I was recommend Green Coffee Berry Extract supplements as a tool to lower and control not only my H1C1 levels, but also as a weight loss product. I have to admit that I was skeptical at first, but after taking the Green Coffee Berry supplements for the past 6 weeks, I have already lost 6 pounds and feel pretty good. Although I need to wait a few more months to get my H1C1 checked again, I suspect it will be on the way down.

So if you are looking to lose some weight or bring down your blood sugar levels, then definitely take a look at Green Coffee Berry extract – it may just save your life!

How to Increase the Intensity of Your Workou

If you’re looking to increase the level, speed or intensity of your workout, try adding a friend. Talk to your girlfriends or someone you may know form your local gym and make a plan to workout together. Working out in pairs will push you to try harder, go faster and maybe even add some healthy competition! According to a study done at Michigan State University, women who worked out with an exercise partner who was more experienced, tended to last twice as long as opposed to working out alone. Meaning, if you are running 2 miles on your own and you add a running partner who is more advanced than you, you will be averaging 4 miles each workout. Working out together is also a great time to catch up or become better friends with someone. Making a plan to train for something, like a 5k, 10k or even a marathon can be a wonderful bonding experience as well as an amazing way to get into the best shape of your life!

Wrong Running Shoes?

Runners listen up! You may be running in a shoe that is too heavy. Do your calves and knees get super sore after long runs? We asked in-house running expert at Eat Smart Age Smart what she thought. She said that after years of running in Asics, she recently switched to Mizuno on a recommendation from a running expert and they changed her form and comfort level. Knees do not get as fatigued as with heavier shoes and calves seem to have less stress put on them. Mizuno running shoes are super light weight but provide enough support for your longest runs. It is hard enough to run with your own body weight, why add heavy shoes?
