New York City’s BEST Cupcakes!!!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE cupcakes!!! I like them because they are small, moist and when I have a craving for cake, it’s a great indulgence.
The best part about cupcakes is that they are adorably cute and come in a small and manageable size. You can eat a couple of them in different flavours and you just never end up feeling as full and stuffed like you would with a big piece of cake.
In past years there has been a huge revival for cupcakes, which really made their debut in the early 19th century! When they were first introduced, cupcakes had a diminutive size because of measuring tools and what was the most practical manner in which to bake them at the time. In fact, when they were first introduced, cupcakes were much smaller than they are now. I’m guessing they might be closer to the French pastry, the petit-four (which I also love quite a lot).

Portions today are sometimes actually two or three times what a single portion should be and I’ve seen cupcakes that looked more like pregnant muffins than little dainty cakes. I guess, as time has gone by, Americans super-sized their cupcakes along with the rest of their diet. If you can believe it, there are cupcake sizes that now come in: double-layered, triple-layered, full-sheet, and the list of hugeness goes on.
Cupcakes have been a wedding cake of choice for brides looking for a more casual approach to the traditional layered wedding cakes.
I’m featuring cupcakes on this site because I really like them and they are proof that even when you make good food choices, there is always room for a weekly dessert and small cupcakes are a perfect size for a little treat that won’t sabotage all your other Eat Smart efforts!

Love cupcakes; love this article! I must try this the next time I visit NY which will hopefully be for the the premiere of D&G make up collection with Pat McGrath or hopefully at least the Makeup Show! Thanks!

I love cupcakes! I want to taste those New york cupcakes! Can anyone send me some in package! There must be like them here in the Philippines!
