Ward off Wedding Circuit Weight!
Wedding season is right around the corner and that can lead to unwanted pounds. A few healthy tips to stick to while on the wedding circuit. Make sure you eat a healthy meal before going to the wedding. If you show up hungry, you are more likely to scarf down 100 hors devours. Decide what your splurge item/s will be beforehand(cake, hor devours or alcohol). If you do decide to drink alcohol stick to the lower calorie options such as wine spritzers, light beer or champagne. Always drink a glass of water between alcoholic beverages to stay hydrated and to not get too drunk and have a wedding faux pas. The best way to burn off all the calories ingested is to DANCE! Get out on the dance floor and shake your thing, you will leave feeling energized and exercised.

Is Nigella Lawson responsible for obesity in the U.K.?
I’ve always quite like watching Nigella Lawson cook because she’s so anti-Martha Stewart and I really love that about her. I mean who has time, energy or inclination to have everything perfectly prepared the way Martha Stewart does?
I was going through my favourite online U.K. newspaper when I read the screaming headline:
“Doctors attack chefs Nigella Lawson and Rick Stein for fatty recipes that ‘add to obesity crisis’”
It’s not only Nigella who is preparing foods that are so high in fat that they might meet your fat needs for an entire week in just one meal, but I’ve also watched in amazement how Emeril Lagasse keeps going on and on about pork fat and how he loves to deep fry a lot of his recipes in (I guess) pork fat!

Recession diet: There might be a recession, but McDonald’s profits keep rising!!!
Now, I surely don’t want to sound like I’m judging anyone because at the end of the day we all need to do what he need to do to survive, but my concern is that we’ll come out of this recession with higher levels of obesity than ever before.
Report show that McDonald’s has seen profits rise by 80 per cent last year while most industries have seen their profits dwindle into nothingness and many companies have had to shut their businesses. Most restaurants are suffering from the signs of a population that no longer has the disposable income it once had and now many restaurants are suffering while McDonald’s finds itself with fatter pockets than ever before.
Debate over the danger of Teflon-coated pans: I just got rid of my Teflon-coated pan because it was chipped and scratched
A few years ago I was startled by the news that Teflon coated pots and pans might be dangerous to your health and might in the long run cause cancer.
I totally panicked when I heard that and reduced my use of my Teflon pan to only cooking eggs, French pancakes (crepes) and American pancakes. A few days ago, I noticed that my Teflon pan was scratched and I could remove part of the coating with my nail … that was not good news because it was clear that if I could remove it with my nails that meant that it would leach into my food.
I quickly got rid of that pan and got a new one. I really don’t use that pan on a daily basis and I’m watching it closely from now on.
Halloween candy can make you gain weight: 8 tips to help you control candy-binging
Halloween candy here, Halloween candy there, Halloween candy everywhere!
That should truly be the theme for the month of October.
I can tell you that I’ve noticed that most grocery stores and drugstores had started selling Halloween candy just after they had stored away the back to school supply. Yup, stores have been selling Halloween candy since the second week of September!
This is the time of year where things start getting a bit scary in most offices. By scary I mean you’ll start finding a lot more candy and goodies around the office and the temptation to eat far more candy than anyone will ever need is just that much easier.
When you combine the amount of sugar most people eat in October to the fact that most of us will be partying it up at Halloween parties where there will be alcohol and some not-so-healthy-snacks, you can see how you can end up the month of October with a few extra pounds.
