5 Stars great way to slowly start your diet plan
Losing weight is bear–the older we get, the harder it seems. Being on a “diet” for ever seems so demoralizing. Finally here is a book that should not have “diet” in its title at all, but that can help us make incremental changes that are beneficial to our health and that help trim down the weight. In conjunction with the awareness built in a book like “French Women Don’t Get Fat”, this book provides a great way to change our eating habits while keeping a taste for life. I have really enjoyed the idea of “adding” things to my life…bring on the berries! I also like that this book allows people to make incremental changes and that the recipes are flexibile, creative, and easy to improvise. My husband is also reaping the benefits because we are lowering the amount of fat in our diet.

I’ve been trying hard to cut my fat for many years and recently I found this book.
I think Beck’s advice was very informative,inspirational and healthy one because I can start to take action in my daily life right away! I’ve already started to control my unhealthy earing habits and already said “No thank you” several time. I am starting to lose weight and am feeling healthier.
1 Star Just another diet book
I am usually a big fan of Beck and her cognitive therapy work. But this book isn’t really her best work. Its just another “quick fix” diet book, with the focus on short term rather than long term change, and even some of the guilt stuff. The process of working out new thoughts is not interactive enough to hold, the new thoughts she suggests are sometimes the very type of thoughts folks who are losing weight actually guilt themselves with. Good idea, bad application. I have tried a few CBT workbooks with my clients, and this one is going right back to amazon. Nothing new here!

If you follow the steps in this book, you will lose weight. She takes the excuses away, and helps you see how and why you were eating food. This book was very helpful in getting me to change my lifestyle. People are always telling me how amazing it is that I have lost so much weight. Everyone wants to know my secret. I tell them this book got me started, and helped me keep going.
