With the right motivation, you CAN lose weight!

Athletes have been doing it from the beginning of time.
In fact, I was watching last night a show that featured a young French professional race car driver who was a shinning start for Mercedes Benz. I’m quite the fan of a sexy Benz and I cannot imagine how exciting it must be to have as a job the duty to drive one of the best automobiles on the planet at ridiculously high speeds.
Obviously the moral here has nothing to do with the maker of the race car but rather about one particular thing the 26 year-old professional driver said.

There is a reason why athletic coaches get their clients to look at old filmed competition events in order for each performing move to be ingrained in their head.
Visualizing victory/success if truly the only way to go from where you are at right now to where you want to be.
Professional athletes do it, successful business people do it, musicians do it and may I speak from experience cooks and chefs do it. Heck if you don’t believe me, just take a look at some of the creation created by pastry chefs. Do you think some of those elaborate cakes and desserts could be possible without them having a strong and clear picture of the finished product in their head? I don’t think so!
One of the reasons why having a photo of a recipe is so important to me is because as I’m preparing my dish I refer in my mind back to that photo I saw. Once I have that image in my head, I don’t need to go back to the original photo anymore, I’m simply following the steps that will get me to the desired finish product.
So, if visualization is so powerful and it’s worked so well for so many high performers, why is it that people who are trying to lose weight aren’t using visualization a lot more???

Okay, here’s the deal: you’ve got 20, 30 or maybe 50 lbs to lose. You’ve tried many times before, but it’s just not worked very well because you most likely lost your focus or you became discouraged.

The only Hollywood actress who didn’t look too good with the extra weight on was Teri Hatcher because they added 70 lbs to her physique and it actually started to look like an unhealthy weight.
